CEO of CEOs

As a first generation American and college graduate, I am always striving to become the best version of myself. This inspires me to consistently define and achieve my version of success, while being resourceful with what I currently have in order to do so. This being said, I am a firm believer in “lifting as we climb.” I am forever appreciative of those who have helped me get to where I am at today, and I hope that I can do the same for you. EARLY LIFE

As I mentioned, I’m a first generation American and college student, born and raised in New Jersey. My mother is Colombian and my father is Chilean, and they both immigrated to the United States when they were in their early twenties. (This picture is of me visiting Chile for the first time as part of a Babson elective abroad!)

HIGH SCHOOL

In high school, I really did the most - I played trombone in the marching band, ran long distance track, conducted the lights and was a part of the orchestra for the school plays, and led the Spanish club. I graduated 4th in my class with a 4.0 GPA.

THE COLLEGE DAYS

Running a lemonade stand with my best friend in elementary school ignited my entrepreneurial spirit. From self funding a People to People ambassador program during high school to selling origami birds to my middle school friends, Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts, the #1 entrepreneurship school in the world according to the U.S. Report was the school for me to pursue my efforts. I am eternally grateful to have graduated from an institution that challenged me intellectually, provided me with once-in-a-lifetime opportunities, and helped me meet some of my best friends for life. Check out some of my college highlights below:

CODE

Living in Babson’s Community of Developers and Entrepreneurs (CODE) special interest housing my sophomore year introduced me to professional opportunities within the intersection between business and technology, and led me to pursue my current offering manager role.

CCD

Working for three years at my school’s Center for Career Development (CCD) meeting with hundreds of students a semester fostered my passion for helping young professionals level up in their careers. CCD helped me land internship and full-time offers from EY, Bank of America, and IBM. For more information on my professional history, check out my LinkedIn profile!

BRIC

Traveling to Russia, India, and China as part of Babson’s flagship study abroad program (BRIC) with a cohort of 24 other Babson students has been my most memorable and transformative experience to date. We immersed ourselves within the cultures of these emerging economies through daily historical visits, taking entrepreneurship and political courses to learn more about each country’s business landscape, and exploring the cities in our own unique ways. And of course trying all of the delicious foods along the way was an added bonus.

POST-COLLEGE: IBM

Currently, I am an Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) offering manager at IBM. EPM is improving the ability to access and utilize data to inform better business decisions, addressing data fragmentation across the enterprise. By leveraging agile best practices, I am delivering business requirements that are revolutionizing and simplifying the workflows of our enterprise market stakeholders and users. We do this through facilitating the communication among our cross-functional teams to ensure we’re on track to delivering on our OKRs each iteration.

QUARANTINE SIDE PROJECT: CONTENT CREATION

I am also a content creator. In order to make use of my free time during quarantine, I combined my interests in social media content creation with career development, and have been building a community of young professionals looking to level up in their careers and better themselves in any way. This personal initiative has ignited my interests in mentorship and community building on social media.

MY HOBBIES

GUITAR

I enjoy playing guitar and listening to music. Music is my lifeline. Favorite genre to play guitar is classic rock songs (think Queen, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, etc.) If anyone really cares, my top five artists from my Spotify Wrapped for 2020 include: J Balvin, Ozuna, Roddy Ricch, Anuel AA, and Daddy Yankee. The Weeknd also gets an honorable mention from me. If you enjoy these artists as well, then we’d get along great!

KARATE

I enjoy practicing karate. I have been practicing Shido kan Okinawan style karate since September 2004. One of my proudest accomplishments was when I tested for and received my black belt in November 2014 at the United States Okinawan Karate dojo headquarters in Lansing, Michigan - becoming one of the youngest from my dojo to do so. Karate has been fundamental to my mental development as it taught me self-defense and discipline, improved my focus, and elevated my self-esteem.

TRAVELING

I enjoy traveling. From self-funding a People to People Ambassador trip in which I travelled to England, France, and Italy my junior year of high school, to visiting family and friends in Colombia, to studying abroad in Russia, India, China, and reconnecting with my roots through a weeklong elective abroad trip to Chile - traveling is my favorite thing in the world.

If you’ve made it this far, I appreciate your willingness to learn a bit more about me and your commitment to your own personal and professional development. I’m still trying to figure things out for myself, but I a firm believer in the following:

Staying consistent, through doing a little bit of something related to your goals each day, especially if you’re enjoying the process, is a guarantee to greatness.

Anyone is able to achieve anything they set their mind to if they are willing to match their work ethic to their ambition.

Together, we can achieve our wildest dreams, and become the CEOs of our lives that we were meant to be. Let’s connect, and send me a personalized message saying how you found me!
